Showstop® Procedure is an internationally accredited event safety training and certification programme supported by the Pink Bows Foundation, designed to help venues and event professionals respond quickly and effectively when a life-safety threat requires an event to be paused or stopped.

Developed by internationally recognised crowd safety experts Steve Allen and Dr Mark Hamilton, the procedure provides a clear and standardised framework for decision-making, communication and intervention during critical incidents.

Designed for stadiums, arenas, festivals and other live event environments, Showstop® helps safety-critical teams prepare for scenarios including crowd emergencies, fire, severe weather, security threats and other situations where immediate intervention may be required to protect spectators, staff and performers.

Our expertise

Showstop® Procedure helps stadiums and event professionals prepare for one of the most critical decisions in live event safety: when and how to safely pause or stop an event.

The procedure establishes clear roles, responsibilities, communication channels and decision-making processes so that venue teams can respond quickly and proportionately when a life-safety threat emerges.

Through practical training, case studies and scenario-based learning, participants develop the knowledge and confidence to assess emergency situations, coordinate multiple stakeholders and implement a Showstop® Procedure within their own venue or event environment.

For ESSMA members, Showstop® provides a standardised and internationally accredited approach that can strengthen emergency preparedness across football matches, rugby matches, concerts and other major events hosted within stadiums.
