One of the keynotes featured in the stadium development-programme was ESSMA, represented by Yari Van Minsel. His main topic was the impact of COVID-19 on European stadium operations and projects. Based on our research, ESSMA designed a 12-step programme for stadium managers to welcome back fans to the stands, combining hygienic measures, safety protocols and fan experience.

I was honoured to be part of the Soccerex Connected event, where I was given to opportunity to explain ESSMA’s COVID-19 report in a keynote presentation. It was a great opportunity to share our research with Soccerex Connected participants and thereby provide information for stadium operators who are working to prepare their venues for the “new normal”.
