Monaco Sets Stade Louis II on Path to 2035 Modernisation

The Government of Monaco has initiated modernisation works at Stade Louis II as the first phase of a broader ten-year vision through to 2035. This summer, refurbishment began on refreshment concessions, sanitary facilities, and spectator stands, aiming to improve crowd flow, comfort, accessibility and compliance with international safety and quality standards.

The phased approach spans 2025–2027, ensuring key events such as AS Monaco matches, the Herculis athletics meeting, and the Games of the Small States of Europe proceed without disruption, with provisional measures in place during works.

Beyond 2027, plans include further upgrades such as retrofitting reception halls, upgrading parking, and potentially installing photovoltaic panels. This multi-stage project is designed to enhance the user experience while safeguarding the stadium’s role as a major sporting hub in the Principality.

Pro League and Raw Stadia Partner to Enhance Pitch Quality

The Pro League has announced a multi-year strategic partnership with Raw Stadia to improve pitch quality across all Jupiler Pro League and Challenger Pro League clubs. The collaboration provides clubs with access to advanced technology, expert guidance, and a software platform to objectively evaluate playing surfaces, generate data reports, and support greenkeepers with tailored advice.

Several clubs previously used Raw Stadia technology, which delivered measurable improvements and inspired a collective agreement for consistent pitch quality across the league. The partnership aligns with the Pro League’s ambition to raise competition standards, reduce player injuries, and ensure uniform field conditions.

On 3 September, a launch event at Lotto Park will introduce the data, technology, and the new Pitch Management Handbook to club personnel. Both organisations emphasise that top-quality playing surfaces are essential to player performance, injury prevention, and overall league professionalism, combining technology and expertise to optimise pitch management.
